SCREEN TESTS

three-channel color video installation, each video runs 4:22, no audio

Inspired by Andy Warhol’s films of the same name, Screen Tests presents three women seated before a white background under a single light source. Although arranged in a line here, as an installation the three videos will be shown on separate screens arranged in a triangular formation; the videos loop continuously, requiring viewers to circle the installation to encounter each figure in turn.

The work is not a portrait of individuals but an evocation of archetypes. Whether seen as Grandmother-Mother-Daughter, Crone-Mother-Maiden, or The Three Goddesses, they embody positions that anchor a lineage and push it forward. Together, they mark a continuum of inheritance, representing both continuity and change in matrilineal legacy. In this way, Screen Tests makes visible how selfhood is shaped across generations, as traces move forward through the line of inheritance.
